Mrs. Mamie Boutwell Lowrey, 88, died Saturday, April 19, 2008, in Jay, Fla. She was a native of Flomaton and a resident of Century for most of her life. She was a former employee of Vanity Fair for 24 years, and attended the Beulah Chapel Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Jacob Harold Lowrey, and a daughter, Betty Martin.
She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Jean (Curtis) Jernigan of Pleasant Grove, Utah, Bonnie Jeanice (Harold) Pettis of Abbeville, and Brenda Jane (Tommy) Sellers of Brewton; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-granchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 23, at 11 a.m. at the Beulah Chapel Assembly of God Church with Brother Shelton Kindig and Brother Harold Pettis officiating. Burial will follow at Beulah Cemetery with Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing.
