An Atmore man was found stabbed to death in the doorway of his Virginia Drive home Saturday evening after leaving a party earlier that night.
According to a release issued by the Escambia County Sheriff's Office, Larry Howard, 51, was found dead around 10:10 p.m. at his home.
According to Smith, the case is being treated as a murder.
Deputies responded to the scene of the crime following a 911 call in reference to a person being stabbed. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Howard unresponsive. Paramedics with Atmore Ambulance pronounced him dead at the scene.
