W.S. Neal Lady Eagles drop two

Things went from good to bad Thursday afternoon in East Brewton for the W.S. Neal Lady Eagle softball team.
Holding a 6-0 lead after one inning of play, W.S. Neal surrendered 22 runs to Red Level over the second and third innings to fall 22-6 and to 4-12 on the season.
The Lady Eagles fell to 4-11 on the season Tuesday when they dropped a 25-14 decision to Florala in Florala.
In the game against Red Level, W.S. Neal struck early and often in the first inning. Delilah Holloway singled to lead off the inning for the Lady Eagles and then stole second base before being singled in by Katie Elliott for a 1-0 lead.
Jessica Jaro was then hit-by-pitch as Katie Lowery was walked to load the bases.
Jennie Crawford followed with a walk, along with Jessica Lambert.
Morgan Cooper grounded into a fielder's choice for the Lady Eagles but knocked in an RBI to give the Lady Eagles a 6-0 lead.
That would be the final runs of the game for the Lady Eagles.
Red Level scored 10 runs in the second inning and 12 in the third inning to take a 22-6 lead.
W.S. Neal then came to batin the bottom of the third inning needing two runs to extend the game, but failed to score losing by 16.
Jennie Crawford took the loss on the mound going one and one-third innings and allowing nine runs.
Renee Boatwright relieved Crawford in the top of the second inning and pitched one inning allowing nine runs.
Katie Lambert relieved Boatwright in the top of the third inning with one out and went two-thirds of an inning allowing four runs.
Holloway was 2-for-2 at the plate with one RBIs. Elliott was 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Crawford was 1-for-2 with
one RBI and Lambert, Cooper, and Kristin Ball both had an RBI.
The Lady Eagles were scheduled to play Frisco City on April 29, but the game was cancelled by Frisco City for lack of players.
The next game for the Lady Eagles will be May 2 in the sectional tournament in Andalusia against T.R. Miller.
The two rivals in the T.R. Miller Lady Tigers and the W.S. Neal Lady Eagles will play at 2 p.m.
Hillcrest's Lady Jaguars and the Andalusia Lady Bulldogs will also play at 2 p.m.
Both winners from the games will face each other with the two losing teams playing game two. The top two teams will advance in the tournament.
