The Alabama Public School and College Incentive Fund Council has approved a $130,000 grant that will be used to update the fire alarm systems of 11 Escambia County Schools.
The council's decision was announced Monday by Speaker of the House Seth Hammett and Rep. Alan Baker and will bring the county school system's $1.1 million project closer to completion.
Baker believes that parents will also benefit from updates to the school.
Hines offered words of thanks to Hammet and Baker for their support.
