More than 60 golfers will be hitting the links Thursday at the Country Club of Brewton when the Greater Brewton Area Chamber of Commerce sponsors a four-person scramble.
The annual event is held as a fund raising event.
Jones said the Chamber of Commerce recieves funding for services primarily from dues paid by members.
The tourney, which has been held at the Country Club of Brewton in previous years, will serve lunch and begin registration at 11:30 a.m. Thursday. The shotgun start begins at 1 p.m.
Executive director Judy Crane with the Greater Brewton Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased with the turnout that is expected at the golf tournament on Thursday.
Another way the Chamber makes money for the tournament is in hole sponsorships.
First place winners will receive $100 each while second place will get $50 each and third place winners will get $25 each. A hole-in-one prize is sponsored by Peach Chevrolet and a brand new vehicle will sit on a hole, waiting for someone to win it.
Lunch will also be served on the day of the event as a menu consists of hamburgers and grilled chicken, baked beans, potato salad and chips. A drink cart will be available on the course for all participants wishing to quench their thirst while out on the course.
