The T.R. Miller High School boy's track team captured the class 4A sectional championship over the weekend in Selma.
The boys posted 205 points to second place Alabama Christian's 149. The W.S. Neal boys finished third with 205 points.
On the girl's side, the W.S. Neal girls posted a second place finish with 94 points. The T.R. Miller girls finished in seventh place with 35 points.
The top six from each event and the overall top six teams advance to the state meet to be held at Gulf Shores City Municipal Track Friday and Saturday, May 2 and 3.

While both our area teams in T.R. Miller and W.S. Neal placed teams and participants in the top six finishers in the track and field events over the weekend in Selma, both teams and individuals will now move on the state meet.
The class 4A state meet will be held along with the class 5A and 6A events this Friday and Saturday in Gulf Shores.
The state meet will be held at the Gulf Shores City Municipal Track site. Admission will be $6 per day, per person.
Events will begin at 9:30 a.m. Friday morning and 9 a.m. Saturday.
Awards and recognition of the individual and team winners will be announced after the close of the last event.
