Lady Tigers drop to 11-13 on season after tourney

After getting two hits and two runs in the first inning against Flomaton on Tuesday, the T.R. Miller Lady Tigers only managed two more hits throughout the rest of the game and no runs as Flomaton scored six unanswered runs to claim a 6-2 win.
With the loss, T.R. Miller fell to 11-13 on the season.
T.R. Miller took advantage of a two out walk to Leslie Nalty and an RBI triple by Natalie Neal and an RBI single by Leah Brundidge to take an early 2-0 lead on the Lady Canes.
Flomaton then tied the game up at 2-2 in the top of the second inning on two Lady Tiger errors and then took a 3-2 lead in the top of the third inning on another Lady Tiger error.
Flomaton added to their lead in the top of the fourth inning with a two-run homerun and then added their last run of the game in the top of the sixth inning to claim a 6-2 lead.
The Lady Tigers tried to get a rally going in the bottom of the sixth inning when Nalty doubled with one out, but a double play by the Lady Canes ended the threat.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, Keyetta Jones singled with two outs for the Lady Tigers, but that would be the last base runner of the game for the Lady Tigers as Flomaton won 6-2.
The Lady Tigers were set to play in Andalusia on Friday against the W.S. Neal Lady Eagles in the sectional tournament.

In the Spanish Fort tournament over the weekend, the Lady Tigers went 1-3 in the tournament to fall to 11-12 on the season.
T.R. Miller lost to Spanish Fort 9-6 in game one, McGill-Toolen 8-4 in game two, defeated Davidson 6-1 in game three and lost to Spanish Fort again in game four by a score of 6-2.
In game one against Spanish Fort, T.R. Miller held a 6-2 lead in the top of the third inning before falling to four runs in the bottom of the fourth and have the game tied up at 6-6.
Spanish Fort scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to fall 9-6.
Janel McCorvey was 2-for-3 in the loss. Nalty took the loss on the mound as she went six innings and allowed nine hits and two walks while striking out one.
Against McGill-Toolen, McCorvey was 3-for-4 and Natalie Neal was 2-for-3 to lead the Lady Tigers. Leah Brundidge was 2-for-3 with a triple.
Anderson took the loss going six innings and allowing seven hits, three walks and two strikeouts.
Against Davidson, McCorvey was 2-for-4 in the win with a double and Teralyn Moore was 1-for-3 with a triple. Keyetta Jones was 3-for-3 with two hits.
Nalty took the win as she went seven innings and allowed four hits and one walk.
In game two against Spanish Fort, Neal was 2-for-3 in the loss.
Nalty and Anderson combined on the mound for the Lady Tigers allowing five hits and four walks and striking out three.
