PCI Tribal seat qualification ends May 8

Thirteen individuals are running for the three seats open on the Poarch Band of Creek Indians Tribal Council including incumbents Tribal Chairman Buford L. Rolin, Eddie L. Tullis and Arthur Mothershed.
The Tribal Council consists of nine members and only three of those seats are up for re-election on an annual basis.
The other candidates for the PCI Tribal Council include David Adams, Charles “Bo” Bray, Rodney Exum, Douglas E. “Poncho” Kelley, Dewey L. McGhee, Jack Allen McGhee, Rayford (Ray) Rolin, Berry L. Ross, Garvin Sells and J.W. “Billy” Smith.
Individuals who wish to run for PCI Tribal Council have until May 8 to sign up.
Those wishing to run must submit a written statement of candidacy with the election board no later than 5 p.m. on May 8.
Also on May 8 walk-in voting will begin at 8 a.m. and will end on June 3 at 5 p.m.
The last day for an absentee ballot to be mailed out is May 27.
The deadline to receive an absentee ballot is June 6 at 5 p.m.
Election day will be held June 7. Voting will be held from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. at the Poarch Creek Indian Community Services Building (SAIL Center).
