Bank to hold grand opening

The newest bank in Brewton, First Exchange Bank, will have its grand opening Friday, May 9.
First Exchange Bank President Dan Thomas said the staff is looking forward to a great event.
Thomas said other guests will be arriving throughout the day and a variety of activities will highlight the celebration.
Plans for the day include a live remove by WEBJ from 9 to 11 a.m. with a remote by WKNU from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Refreshments will also be served.
The historical building, located on the corner of St. Joseph Avenue and Deer Street still has its antique charm while at the same time has been renovated to serve its purpose of being a modern bank.
Officers of the bank are all hometown people who will be very familiar to everyone, Thomas said.
Officers are Philip Jennings, Susan Reeves and Shirley Miley service as vice-presidents. Charlene Godwin is the compliance officer and Tyree Newkirk is the administrative assistant. Allison Cooper and Alicia McGill are the tellers.
