TRM boys finish seventh

The T.R. Miller High School boy's tennis team finished in seventh place at the class 4A boys state meet over the weekend with a final score of 14.
Trinity took the state championship with a 72 score, 28 points more than second place Cherokee County.
Drew Lambert led the T.R. Miller boys in the No. 3 singles slot. Lambert, who had a bye in the first round of play, defeated David Kilgo of Douglas 6-1 and 6-2 in the second round to advance to the semi-finals round against Haleyville.
In the semi-finals round against Haleyville, Lambert fell 6-2 and 6-2 to end his run.
In the No. 1 singles spot, Paul Ludolph lost to Jemison's T.J. Robbins 6-3 and 6-3.
In No. 2 singles, Roy Brown defeated Ben Loggins of Oneonta 6-4 and 6-2 in the first round before falling to Cherokee County 6-2 6-4 in the second round.
In the No. 4 singles for the Tigers, Todd Robinson defeated Patrick Carlisle 6-3 and 6-0 before falling to Trinity in the second round 6-3 and 6-1.
In the No. 5 singles, Nick Moore fell to Guntersville in the second round 6-2 and 6-3 after having a bye in round one.
In the No. 6 singles, Caleb Smith had a bye in round one to advance to the second round where he fell to Luke Carlson of Trinity 6-1 and 6-1 after taking the first set 6-1.
In No. 1 doubles, Ludolph and Brown fell to Douglas High School 6-2 and 6-1.
Lambert and Robinson carried T.R. Miller into the semi-finals before falling to Cherokee County in the No. 2 doubles. Lambert and Robinson defeated Jemison 6-2 and 6-0 before falling to Cherokee County.
In the No. 3 doubles, Brian Oliver and Caleb Smith fell in the second round to Brooks High School.
