EB Yankees defeat Brewton Angels

The East Brewton Yankees defeated the Brewton Angels 5-4 in an 11/12-year-old game Friday night.
Tyler Joyner took the win for the Yankees in a complete game allowing four runs on three hits with nine strikeouts, two walks and two errors.
Dominique Jackson and Zac Griffin combined for a three hitter allowing five runs, with 11 strikeouts, six walks, and one error.
Cameron Easterling led the Yankees at the plate going 1-for-3 with a double, two RBI's and one run scored. Miles Powell was 1-for-2 with a double, two runs scored, and one walk. Tyler Joyner was also 1-for-1 with a single, two runs scored, and two walks. D. Williams had one run scored after reaching on an error.
Darby Black led the Angels at the plate going 1-for-2, with a double, one run scored, and one intentional walk. Dominique Jackson was 1-for-3 with a single and one run scored. Dylan Etheridge was 1-for-2 with a single and two RBI's.
Trin Miller had one run scored as a pinch runner for James Peach, after Peach reached on an error. Tyler Reid also had one run scored after reaching on an error.
The win for the Yankees improved their record to 5-4 on the year, while the Angels fell to 6-3 on the year.
Red Sox 12, Blue Jays 8
The Brewton Red Sox improve to 7-1 on the season as Lane Clark got the win on the mound. At the plate, Trippe Floyd was 1-for-2. Troy Hart had a double in the win, as Demonte Jenkins was 1-for-1 with a double.  On defense, Jackson Deathridge made the play of the game for the Red Sox with a great catch in the outfield.  
Brewton Pirates 6,
Brewton Angels 4
The Brewton Pirates squeaked past the Brewton Angels 6-4. Chris Jones started on the mound for the Pirates. Todd Mayo relieved him in the third inning for the save.
The Angels Zac Griffin jump-started the game with a hard hit double to left field bringing in Dominque Jackson. Darby Black followed with a single scoring on errors.
The Pirates Landen Huff then threw out Griffin at home plate. Caden Lodge hit a single for the Pirates and managed to score on errors.  Keaton Parker hit a sacrifice to left to bring in Darby Black in the third to increase the Angels lead to 3-1.
Trey Salter hit a single for the Pirates, quickly brought in by Caden Lodge. Todd Mayo belted a hard double and Silas Tucker reached the bag on a walk. Lodge, Mayo and Tucker all scored on stolen bases.
Black tried to rally the Angels in the fifth with a double, but the Pirates were able to hold them.
Todd Mayo started the bottom of the fifth with a double. Patrick Ard ended the game with a hard hit double to center.
Dominque Jackson went 1-for-2 with a single. Zac Griffin was 1-for-3 with a double. Darby Black was 2-for-2 with a single and double. James Peach was 1-for-1 with a single.  Ryan Gray was 1-for-2 with a single.
Trey Salter was 1-for-2 with a single. Caden Lodge went 2-for-3 with two singles. Todd Mayo went 2-for-3 with two doubles. Silas Tucker went 1-for-1 with a double. Patrick Ard went 1-for-1 with double.
This brings both teams to 6-4 for the season.
Brewton Pirates 8,
Brewton Diamondbacks 6
The Brewton Pirates defeated the Brewton Diamondbacks 8-6.  Todd Mayo took the victory from the mound for the Pirates. Rob Stokes threw for the loss for the Diamondbacks.
The Pirates went out front with an early lead in the first inning with three runs scored.  They increased their lead in the second with a single from Trey Salter and a double from Silas Tucker and Todd Mayo. The Diamondbacks fought back in the sixth inning. Jones Manning and Rob Stokes singled to get on the bag. 
Chandler Brown stepped up with a hard hit homerun over left center bringing in three runs. The Pirates stopped the Diamondbacks and were able to end the game for the win.
Jones Manning went 1-for-3 with a single. Rob Stokes went 1-for-3 with a single. Keion Smith went 1-for-2 with a double. Chandler Brown went 1-for-3 with a homerun.
Brewton Blue Jays 12,
Brewton Reds 8
Andrew Brown contributed two hits to the win – one being a triple – and scored a pair of runs.
With a run already in – cutting the deficit to 12-8 – the Reds had runners on first and second with just one out when Landon Salter sent a blast to leftfield. Andrew Pollitte made a sparkling running catch for the second out and his teammate Garrett Salter closed out the game with a strikeout.
Gehman, Drew Williamson, and Jordan Williams each singled and scored for the Reds.
EB 9/10 Cubs 18, EB Braves 3
The East Brewton Cubs improved their record on the season with an 18-3 win over the East Brewton Braves.
Dalton Shell allowed no runs and no hits on the mound while striking out five and going 3-for-4 at the plate offensively.
Malcolm Hawthorne was also 3-for-4 on the day with a triple and two singles.
Zack Williams and Matt Hutching also pitched in the win for the Cubs as Kaeli Brown and Derrick Barton pitched for the Braves.
Brown allowed 13 runs and seven hits while striking out two and walking two. Derrick Barton allowed five runs and five hits and struck out three and walked three.
Hutchins was 2-for-4 at the plate as Zack Williams, Duane Hamby and Trevor Williams were all 1-for-2.
Austin Bradley was 1-for-1 in the win.
For the Braves, Joseph Booker was 1-for-2 at the plate.
EB A's 7, Flomaton Two 6
Colton Morris was 2-for-3 at the plate offensively for the East Brewton A's as she had a double and a triple to led the A's to a 7-6 win over Flomaton 2.
Colton Young was 2-for-4 as Lane Chavers was 1-for-2 and Dakota Graves was 1-for-4.
Young, Chavers and Marcus Simmons all pitched in the win for the A's. Young allowed one hit and one run and struck out two and walked one in the win.
Lane Chavers allowed five runs and two hits and struck out nine as Simmons allowed no runs on no hits.
Flomaton One 9,
EB 9/10 Cubs 2
The East Brewton 9/10-year-old Cubs were held two only two hits in a 9-2 loss to Flomaton One.
Malcolm Hawthorne and Zack Williams recorded the only two hits in the game for the Cubs. Hawthorne had a triple and Williams had a double.
Dalton Shell, Zack Williams, and Matt Hutchins all pitched for the Cubs in the loss.
Shell allowed three runs on three hits and walked four and struck out seven. Williams allowed six runs and three hits while striking out two and waling two. Hutchins struck out one and walked one in the loss.
Flomaton Two 14,
EB Braves 12
The Flomaton Two team recorded their first win of the season with a one hitter over the EB Braves by a score of 14-12. Both teams combined for only four hits and two errors while scoring 26 runs.
Kaeli Brown recorded the Braves lone hit with a single.
Both pitching staffs had 23 walks on the night.
Joseph Booker, Joseph Adams, Charlie Land, Tucker Davenport, and Cameron Taylor all pitched for the Braves.
Booker allowed two runs on no hits and struck out six and walked one. Adams allowed four runs on two hits and walked two. Land allowed five runs and four walks as Davenport allowed three runs and one hit on two walks. Cameron Taylor had a strikeout in the loss.
