Mrs. Doris Myrl Howington Booker, 72, died Thursday, May 15, 2008, in a Crenshaw County nursing facility after an extended illness. She was a native of Conecuh County and a long-time resident of Brewton. She was a graduate of Baylor University, was a homemaker, and of the Methodist faith. She was preceded in death by a son, Marvin Kenneth Booker.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Marvin W. Booker of Brewton; a son, Roger Dale (Waydene) Booker of Little Rock, Ark.; a daughter, Linda Yoder of Brewton; three brothers, Shelton Howington of Flomaton, James Howington of Brewton, and Wayne Howington of Castleberry; four sisters, Anne Balkom of Brewton, Judy Baggett of Monroeville, Jackie Jackson of Pensacola, Fla., and Betty Burch of Range; five grandchildren, Wendy Ellis, Stephanie Codner, Chad Connor, Kim Miller and Stacey Ward; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Sunday, May 18, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held, Sunday, May 18, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Cole officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Gardens with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
