Support for Relay event disappointing
I was totally disappointed by this year's participation for Relay for Life.  There were only 7 teams that participated.
I know there should have been a lot more participation than this.  Each person is touched by cancer in one way or another.  Whether it be a family member, friend, or co-worker.
After losing my mother in 2006 to cancer, I made a pledge to myself that I would work hard to help find a cure for this disease that's taken so many lives.
Since Brewton is suppose to be one of the best 100 small towns to live in,  I challenge each and every one of you Brewtonians to come out next year and show your support.
Whether you form your own team, make a donation or come out and walk with the survivors.  You can contact Marcia DeGraff at 867-8061 or Carla Redfearn at 867-9168.
With God's Grace and caring people like you ,we can fight this together.
Thank you, and I look forward to seeing you next year.

Contributions appreciated
I would like to thank Pic and Sav and Piggly Wiggly for their generous contributions to our state track and field team.
The concern for the students of Escambia County by these businesses represent the very best our community has to offer.
Thank you again for your generous support.

Horseowner sends message
This is to the person who slipped down to my barn Wednesday night, opening all the gates letting the horses loose.
Know first, these horses don't belong to me; I've moved mine. Second, you are on videotape and if you want to be prosecuted, do it again.
Remember, I may not have seen you committing your act against God's creatures, but He did.
