Brewton Babe Ruth Tigers stay in first with wins, now 7-1 on season

As of Babe Ruth play on Friday, May 23, 2008 the Brewton Babe Ruth Tigers are currently still in first place with a 7-1 record followed by the Rays at 5-3, Rockies 5-4, Cardinals 5-5, Indians 3-7, Royals 2-7.
Rockies 3, Indians 0
Keith Bradley pitched seven scoreless innings for the Rockies while allowing four hits as they defeated the Indians 3-0.
Bradley went seven innings and allowed no runs on four hits while striking out eight and walking one in the win.
Offensively for the Rockies, Curtis Glaize was 2-for-3 with a double and one RBI in the win. Dan Smith, Bradley, Ed Hines and Devlin Crosby were all 1-for-3 in the win for the Rockies.
For the Indians, Joseph Strength took the loss on the mound as he went seven innings and allowed three runs (none earned) on six hits and struck out 13 while walking one.
Josh Palmer and Joseph Strength were both 1-for-3 as Trevor Diercks and Parker Reiss were 1-for-2.
Cardinals 11, Royals 8
Bradley Brown and Trent Robinson both homered for the Royals and combined for seven RBIs but that was not enough as the Cardinals defeated the Royals 11-8.
Collin Graves went four innings on the mound for the Cardinals to earn the win and was 2-for-3 at the plate with three RBIs in the win. Gary McGraw earned the save for the Cardinals in relief of Graves.
Logan Williamson and Josh Tompkins were both 2-for-3 for the Cardinals in the win with both having an RBI.
Graves went four innings and allowed seven earned runs on eight hits while walking six and striking out one.
McGraw went two innings and allowed no runs on one hit and struck out five in the win.
For the Royals, Eli Tyree took the loss on the mound as he went five innings and allowed nine earned runs on 11 hits and struck out nine while walking two.
Offensively for the Royals, Robinson and Brown led with three and four RBIs respectively.
Tigers 20, Royals 4
After falling behind early 4-0 to the Royals, the Tigers scored 20 unanswered runs with 17 coming in the second and third innings to defeat the Royals 20-4 in three innings.
Jacob Fillmore took the win for the Tigers as Hayden Cooper took the loss for the Royals.
For the Tigers, Fillmore was 1-for-4 with two RBIs in the win as Conner Denton was 2-for-3 and Caleb McAnally was 2-for-4 with one RBI. Blake Blackmon was 1-for-2 with one RBI as Tyler Etheridge was 2-for-3 with one RBI.
The Royals committed 13 errors in the loss.
For the Royals, Eli Tyree was 2-for-2 in the loss as Evan Clayton was 1-for-2 with two RBIs.
Cardinals 11, Indians 3
Tyler Dehoff earned the win on the mound for the Cardinals pitching six innings allowing two earned runs in the Cardinals 11-3 win over the Indians.
Dehoff allowed three runs (two earned) and six hits while striking out four and walking one.
Logan Williamson was 1-for-4 with three RBIs and Brian Settle was 2-for-4 with three RBIs.
Wes Maddox took the loss on the mound for the Indians as he allowed six earned runs on five hits while striking out three and walking four.
Joseph Strength was 1-for-3 with a triple in the loss for the Indians.
Maddox and Trevor Diercks were both 1-for-3 in the loss as Diercks had an RBI.
Dalton Evans and Josh Palmer were 1-for-2 in the loss.
Rays 4, Indians 3
It may have taken the Rays four innings to break the scoreboard with some runs but they grabbed a 3-2 lead in the top of the fifth inning before using a Dylan Bell RBI single in the top of the seventh inning to score Reid Johnson to grab a 4-3 win over the Indians Thursday night.
Bell not only drove in the winning run in the seventh but picked up the win on the mound in relief of Wil Riggs.
Bell went three innings and allowed no earned runs on four hits while striking out one and walking one.
Riggs went four innings and allowed one earned run on three hits while striking out five.
Bell was 1-for-4 at the plate with one RBI in the win as Ryland Dixon was also 1-for-4 with one RBI.
Riggs was 2-for-4 with a RBI and a triple.
For the Indians, Dalton Evans took the loss on the mound as he went seven innings and allowed four runs (two earned) on seven hits and had three strikeouts and three walks in the loss.
For the Indians, Monterius Culliver was 2-for-4 at the plate in the loss as Hunter Mullins was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Joseph Strength had an RBI in the loss.
Parker Reiss, Josh Palmer, and Trevor Diercks were all 1-for-3 in the loss as Maddox was 1-for-4.
Tigers 7, Cardinals 0
The Tigers continued their winning streak as they defeated the Cardinals 7-0 Thursday night.
Conner Denton picked up the win on the mound for the Tigers and was 1-for-4 with three RBIs in the win.
Caleb McAnally was 1-for-4 with a triple and three RBIs and Louis Miller was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Jacob Fillmore was 1-for-4 in the win.
Gary McGraw took the loss on the mound for the Cardinals.
Offensively for the Cardinals, McGraw was 2-for-3 at the plate followed by Brian Settle's 2-for-4.
Logan Williamson and Josh Tompkins were 1-for-3 in the loss.
Rays 7, Rockies 4
Wil Riggs was 3-for-3 with two RBIs and a double and a homerun and Harrison Horton added a homerun and two RBIs for the Rays as they defeated the Rockies 7-4 Tuesday night.
Riggs also earned the win on the mound for the Rays as he went three innings and allowed one run on one hit and struck out five and walked one in the win.
Jeremy Myers and Dylan Bell pitched in relief of Riggs in the win for the Rays.
Bell was 1-for-3 and Reid Johnson and Kameron Winn were both 1-for-2 in the win with Johnson having an RBI.
For the Rockies, Devlin Crosby took the loss on the mound. Crosby went five innings and allowed six earned runs on seven hits while striking out three and walking four in the loss.
Offensively for the Rockies, Ed Hines was 1-for-2 with a double and two RBIs. Dan Smith was 1-for-3 with an RBI as Keith Bradley and Curtis Glaize were 1-for-2 with Glaize adding an RBI.
Rockies 14, Rays 5
In game two for the Rockies and Rays, the Rockies defeated the Rays 14-5.
The Rockies had eight hits and two errors in the game as the Rays had two hits and six errors in the loss.
Tyler Sawyer was the winning pitcher for the Rockies as he allowed four runs (two earned) on two hits and had seven strikeouts and five walks in the win. Dan Smith relieved Sawyer and went two innings and had one earned runs on no hits and one walk and one strikeout.
Offensively for the Rockies, Devlin Crosby and Curtis Glaize were 2-for-3 with Glaize having an RBI and Crosby having two.
Cody Bradley was 1-for-3 with a double and one RBI as Smith was 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
For the Rays, Bell and Jeremy Myers combined for the loss. Offensively for the Rays, Wil Riggs and Bell were both 1-for-3 with an RBI each.
Rockies 8, Royals 3
Tyler Sawyer earned the win on the mound for the Rockies as he allowed two hits and one run (none earned) as the Rockies defeated the Royals 8-3.
Sawyer allowed two walks and had three strikeouts in the win.
Curtis Glaize, Cody Bradley and Sawyer all had RBIs in the win. Glaize was 1-for-4 along with Bradley and Sawyer was 1-for-1.
For the Royals, Caleb Dickey took the loss as he went four innings and allowed three runs and two earned on five hits while walking three.
Hayden Cooper was 1-for-4 and Trent Robinson was 1-for-2 in the loss for the Royals. Shawn Odom was 1-for-3 along with Evan Clayton's 1-for-3 showing at the plate. Neil Morris was 1-for-1 on the day.

Brewton Royals 6
In the nightcap in East Brewton on Thursday night, the Brewton Royals dropped a 13-6 loss to the Evergreen Royals.
Bradley Brown took the loss for Brewton as he came in relief of starter Shawn Odom. Brown came in the third inning before being relieved in the fifth inning by Caleb Dickey.
Brown allowed five runs (four earned) on one hit and had four strikeouts and had five walks in the loss.
Hayden Cooper and Trent Robinson were 1-for-2 with Robinson having two RBIs in the loss. Shawn Odom was 1-for-3.
