Mrs. Carol Sue Godwin, 66, died Saturday, May 17, 2008, in a Collinsville, Okla. nursing facility after an extended illness. She was a native of Independence, Kan., and a former resident of Oklahoma before moving to Mobile. She was of the Pentecostal faith, retired from Met Life and a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Frank Godwin of Mobile; a son, Jeff Boyle of Oklahoma; five daughters, Diane Hernandez, Tracey Godwin, Crystal Chandler, Casey Smith and Chaisity White of Mobile; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 23, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Brother George Weaver officiating. Burial followed at Buffington Cemetery in Castleberry with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
