Miller joins commission race

Brewton resident Norman Miller has announced his candidacy for the position of county commission district 2.
Miller, a native of Brewton, was reared in Dayton, Ohio, but returned to Brewton 15 years ago.
He has been the pastor at a local church for the past eight years and is the co-chairperson for the Springhill Community Improvement Committee.
Miller said although he grew up in Ohio, he is at home in Brewton.
Miller is a graduate of Jefferson Township High School in Dayton. He attended Marshall University in Dayton, and Ohio University in Athens. He received numerous awards for training and service from CSX and other institutions.
He is the father of two sons and one daughter with eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He enjoys reading, walking and playing golf. He is a Bible teacher and enjoys visiting and encouraging the sick and shut-in.
Miller will be on the November ballot as an independent candidate for the position of county commission district 2.
