Mr. Farrish Manning Jr., 68, died Friday, May 30, 2008, in a Mobile hospital. He was a native of Monroeville. He was a graduate of Monroe County High School and attended John A. Gupton College of Mortuary Science in Nashville, Tenn. He was part owner of Johnson's Funeral Home where he worked for 53 years. He and his wife owned Flowers by Barbara and Johnson's Flower Shop in Monroeville. He was also part owner of Granite Sales Monument Company. He served Monroe County as county coroner for 38 years. He was the founder and long-time member of Caledonia Hilton Hunting Club in McWilliams, Ala. He was preceded in death by his parents, Farrish Manning Sr. and Edna Rae Manning.
He is survived by his son, Mark (Jamie) Manning of Brewton; two grandchildren, Jones and Morgan Manning of Brewton; and one sister, Carolyn Manning of Evergreen.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 3, at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne McMillan and the Rev. Glen Eubanks officiating. Burial followed at Pineville Cemetery with Johnson Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Johnny Johnson, Randy McDonald, Sonny Cobb, Billy Jones, Max Jones and Mike Floyd. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Caledonia Hilton Hunting Club.
