Rachel Fraser of T.R. Miller High in Brewton has been awarded a $1,250 scholarship from the Alabama Power Foundation.
Eligible students are dependent children of active, retired or deceased Alabama Power employees from across the state. Rachel is the daughter of Tom and Susie Fraser of Brewton. Tom is retired from Alabama Power.
Fraser will major in business at the University of Alabama this fall.
Selections are based on academic merit by an independent organization, Scholarship Program Administrators Inc.
At T.R. Miller, Rachel was named to the National Honor Society and captain of the cheerleading squad her senior year. She was also elected Class Representative and was on the Math Team. Rachel made the A-Honor Roll in grades nine through 12, and she earned French horn first chair in the concert band in grades nine, 10 and 11.
