Mr. Daniel Lamar McGougin, 55, died Friday, June 6, 2008, at his Brewton residence. He was a native and life long resident of Brewton. He worked as a crane operator for T.R. Miller Mill Company for a number of years and was of the Holiness faith. He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Leigh McGougin.
He is survived by three sons, Carl (Bethany) Stinson, Wesley Stinson, and Jamie McGougin, all of Appleton; a daughter, Holly (George) Murphy of Jackson, Ga.; five sisters, Williemae Blackmon, Margie Baggett and Mary Lambeth, all of Brewton, Rosie Bird of Atmore and Annie Asberry of Excel; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 9, at 10 a.m. from the chapel of Craver's Funeral Home with Brother Tony Dinkins and Brother Fred White officiating. Burial followed at Weaver Cemetery with Craver's Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Adam McCall, Tim Wood, Jason McGougin, Monte McGougin, Scotty Asberry, Kevin Baggett, Charles Dinkins and Frankie Murphy.
