Mr. Kenneth Ashley “Kenny” Philyaw, 47, died Friday, June 6, 2008, in a Crestview, Fla. nursing facility after a brief illness. He was a native of Brewton and a long time resident of Repton. He was a Baptist and employed in the retail sales industry. He was preceded in death by his sister, Laura Eyvone Hammonds; and a brother, Clark Bradley Philyaw.
He is survived by two brothers, Jerry Wayne Philyaw Sr. of East Brewton and Howard J. Philyaw of Holt, Fla.; three nephews and one niece.
Graveside funeral services were held Tuesday, June 10, at 11 a.m. at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Michael Cosey officiating and Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
