The Committee of the 2008 Relay for Life of East Escambia would like to thank everyone  who worked together to make this year's Relay a success.
Our nine teams, sponsors, the media, and those of you who donated in so many ways joined together in a community effort to fight cancer. We are proud of all of you and appreciate so much your efforts and support.
Our Relay goal for 2008 was $55,000. To date we have raised $33,618, so we are beneath our goal. However, the Relay year goes through August, so you still have an opportunity to be a part of this year's Relay if you were not able to participate. If you would like to make a donation, please send it to Marcia De Graaf, Accounting Chairman, 205 Rosemary Ave., Brewton, AL 36426. Checks should be made payable to “American Cancer Society.”
As Relay is a year round event, we are already planning for a bigger and better Relay for 2009. To get us started, we will have a Relay workshop on Thursday, July 17, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm in the Education Center of D.W. McMillan Hospital.  Supper will be served.
Anyone who is interested in having a team in 2009, being a volunteer, serving on the Committee, or helping in any way is invited to attend. Please call 809-8309 to let us know if you plan to attend so we will have enough food.
Thank you again for your support of Relay. Those who benefit from ACS programs in our community directly benefit from your generosity.
Let's celebrate our survivors, remember those who have fought the battle, and fight back by making the 2009 Relay the best ever.
