Mrs. Mary Alice Brown Otts, 67, died Saturday, June 14, 2008, at her residence after an extended illness. She was a native of Escambia County and a former resident of Texas before moving back to Brewton in 1991. She was of the Baptist faith and a retired sewing inspector for Judy Bond.
She is survived by her son, Shawn (Crystal) Browder of Arlington, Texas; two daughters, Susie (James) Wells and Kim (Tim Gibson) Browder, both of Brewton; a brother, Perry L. Brown of Tenn.; four sisters, Pauline Ausburn of East Brewton, Virginia Owens of Brewton, Elizabeth Emmons of Pace, Fla., and Cathy Middleton of Robertsdale; five grandchildren, Taylor Browder, Jarrett Gibson, Dylan Wells, Keifer Browder and Camron Browder; a number of nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Suzanne Hastings.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 17, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Joshua Pope officiating. Burial followed at Brown Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
