A brief morning shower and some hot temperatures didn't keep the crowd away Saturday at the 28th annual Alabama Blueberry Festival.
Burnt Corn Creek Park played host to the event, with vendors offering a variety of wares and tempting treats - including the ever-popular blueberry ice cream and cobbler at the Kiwanis Club tent. Blueberry bushes and blueberries by the pint were also on sale, and children enjoyed a water slide and other rides.
Lions Club T-shirt sales were also brisk Saturday morning. The Lions Club started the Blueberry Festival and continues its tradition of involvement by selling T-shirts at the event.
Nicole Trehern of Brewton said she tries to attend the Blueberry Festival every year, noting that the children's rides and other activities are a big hit with her family. “They love it,” she said.
