Brewton BR 13-year-olds to play Thursday
The Brewton Babe Ruth 13-year-old team will begin play Thursday, June 26, in Evergreen. The Brewton team will play against the Evergreen All Star team at 7:30 p.m. Thursday night.
As of press time, brackets from the tournament were not known.
Making the all stars as 13-year-olds are Sam Smith, Brett Smith, Wes Maddox, Hunter Mullin, Dalton Evans, Cam Blackman, Caleb Stewart, Josh Maloy, Cody Smith, Ryan Hunt, Jacob Fillmore, Tyler Dehoff, William Whittle and Jeremy Myers. The team will be coached by head coach David Maddox and assistants Steve Blackman and Dwight Maloy.

to sell football ads

to hold camp in July
JDCC Lady Warhawk volleyball coach Misti Nims has scheduled a volleyball camp for the week of July 21-23 at the JDCC gym. The camp is open to ages 8-18 years of age and will run from 4-6 p.m. in the week. Cost of the camp is $30 before July 21 and $35 on July 21. The camp must have at least 10 campers for the camp to make. Camp sessions are designed to improve the fundamental skills of volleyball. For more information, call Coach Misti Nims at 251-809-1632.
EB, Brewton Little League host All Stars
The East Brewton Little League will host the 9 &10 and the 10 &11 year-old all stars. Dates for the tournament are June 28 for the 9 &10 teams and July 1 for the 10 &11 teams. The Brewton Little League will host the 11 &12. Dates for the tournament are July 5 for the 11 &12 teams.
TRM football program to celebrate Riggs
The 2008 TRM Football Program will be a special 20th Anniversary Edition to celebrate Coach Riggs 20th year of coaching at T.R. Miller. Would you like to place an ad, and/or congratulate Coach Riggs on this milestone?

Football stringers needed for 2008
Anyone interested and wanting to help out as a football stringer for the 2008 season, please email sports@brewtonstandard.com for information. Knowledge of sports and journalism is a plus. Stringers will be paid for games they attend. Stringers will be asked to attend and cover football games the sports editor is unable to attend and will be required to write game stories and compile stats from the game. Photography skills will also be a plus for those interesteed in the stringer position.
