Mrs. Voncille Odom Shipp, 79, died June 13, 2008 at her residence in Canoe. She was a native of Barnett's Crossroads and a resident of Canoe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Riley Benjamin Shipp; two sisters, Frances Odom Crutchfield and Opal Odom Smith; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Wilbur Thomas Shipp and Juanita Kirkland Shipp; and a niece.
She is survived by a daughter, Phyllis Elaine Shipp of Canoe; a sister, Charlotte Odom (Billy) Williams of Walnut Hill, Fla.; two brothers, Ruel (Jackie) Odom Jr. of Lakeland, Fla., and Leo Thomas (Shirley) Odom of Atmore; two brothers-in-law, Leslie Thomas Crutchfield of Atmore, and Joel Smith of Canoe; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday, June 15, at 2 p.m. at Petty Eastside Chapel with the Rev. Earl Harrison officiating. Burial followed at Canoe Freewill Cemetery with Petty Eastside Funeral Home directing.
