Millie Ester Thompson Nelson, 93, of Spring Drive, died Friday, June 27, 2008, at a local hospital after a brief illness. She was a native and life-long resident of Escambia County and was a homemaker. She was a member of East Brewton Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Charles Nelson; a son, Leonard Earl Nelson and a daughter, Rachel Nelson Morris.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara (Leon) White of Brewton; a sister, Lillie Mae Gutierez of California; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and a number of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 30, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Bert Bounds officiating. Burial followed at Green Acres Memorial Gardens with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
