Flomaton Speedway to have Shootout
The Flomaton Speedway will hold a Fourth of July Shootout and will he holding a fundraiser for the ABBA Shrine Center. Gates will open at 4 p.m. on Friday night and racing will begin at 8 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults and $3 for ages six to 11. Kids under five are free. If you would like to make a special donation to the Shriners see Howard Hoomes or contact 251-633-5561 or the MonEsCo Shrine Club at 296-2551.

to hold camp in July
JDCC Lady Warhawk volleyball coach Misti Nims has scheduled a volleyball camp for the week of July 21-23 at the JDCC gym. The camp is open to ages 8-18 years of age and will run from 4-6 p.m. in the week. Cost of the camp is $30 before July 21 and $35 on July 21. The camp must have at least 10 campers for the camp to make. Camp sessions are designed to improve the fundamental skills of volleyball. For more information, call Coach Misti Nims at 251-809-1632.
Football stringers needed for 2008
Anyone interested and wanting to help out as a football stringer for the 2008 season, please email sports@brewtonstandard.com for information. Knowledge of sports and journalism is a plus. Stringers will be paid for games they attend.
Stringers will be asked to attend and cover football games the sports editor is unable to attend and will be required to write game stories and compile stats from the game.
Photography skills will also be a plus for those interested in the stringer position. If you are interested or know someone who might be interested. please contact sports editor Adam Robinson at the Brewton Standard at 251-867-4876.
EB Youth Football
to hold registration
The East Brewton Youth Football teams will hold registration for ages five to 12 on Friday, July 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, July 19 from 10 a.m. to noon.
Registration will be held at the W.S. Neal Elementary School. Cost is $40 for one child, $35 per child with two children in a family and $30 per child with three or more children in a family.
Brewton Little League to host All Stars
The Brewton Little League will host the 11-and-12-year-old tournament. The tournament will begin July 5 at 6 p.m.
