City schools to see changes in new year

Brewton City School Board officials announced changes in personnel for the 2008-2009 school year during a special meeting Monday.
Lynn Smith, superintendent for Brewton City Schools, announced the resignation of Nancy Richardson at Brewton Middle School from her position as seventh-grade language arts teacher.
The position has been announced in accordance with polices of the school system and interviews for Richardson's replacement are under way.
Smith also announced a change in title and position for Carrie Brown at Brewton Middle School. The literacy coach will now hold the position of assistance principal at the school as well as continuing her work as literacy coach.
T.R. Miller High School will be the home for new band director Lance Gainous, according to Smith. Gainous has been hired to begin work immediately at the school.
A regular meeting of the Brewton City School Board will be held Monday at 5 p.m. at the central offices located on Belleville Avenue. The meetings are open to the public.
