Mr. Miles Wilson “Dub” Ball, 82, of Dailey Street, died Monday, July 7, 2008, at his residence after a brief illness. He was a native of Roberts and a long time resident of East Brewton. He attended East Brewton First Baptist Church, was retired from the U.S. Air Force with more than 20 years of service. He worked for Escambia County Sheriff's Department for more than 10 years. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharron Ball Steele and a granddaughter, Kristy Thomas.
He is survived by his wife, Merle Ball of East Brewton; a son, Miles (Weena) Ball of Brewton; a daughter, Yvonne (Ronald) Alford of East Brewton; a sister, Frances (Lyman) Peevy of Brewton; seven grandchildren, Jason Thomas, Farrah Riddle Gibson, Chuck Riddle, Brooke Cain, Kevin Steele, Brenna Ball and Ashley Ball; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 10, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Watts officiating. Burial will follow at Bradley Assembly of God Church Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
