Mrs. Janice Aglender Goodson, 56, died Saturday, June 28, 2008, at a Pensacola hospital. She was a native of Escambia County and a resident of Brewton. She was a graduate of Southern Normal School and was employed with Judy Bond for a number of years and later worked with Jefferson-Smurfit. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleve Smith and Arthurine Smith; one brother; and one sister.
She is survived by her husband, Claude Goodson of Brewton; a son, Terence Bernell Smith of Brewton; two brothers, Cleve (Aletha) Smith Jr. of Pascagoula, Miss., and Wade L. Smith of Jersey City, N.J.; eight sisters-in-law, Mamie Nettles, Mary Cunningham and Susie Floyd, all of Castleberry, Martha Locke, Elizabeth Watkins and Thresa McGhee, all of Montgomery, Eloish Jenkins of New Jersey, and Savannah Jenkins of Tampa, Fla.; one brother-in-law, James Anthony; four aunts, Climintine Richards of Mesa, Ariz., and Gazella Stallworth, Edna East and Mildred Allen, all of Brewton; an uncle, Mark Hendrieth of Brewton; seven grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 3, at 1 p.m. at Greater Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. William Brown officiating. Burial followed at Springhill Cemetery with Presley-Fluker Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Derrick Robbins, Eugene Hall, George Barns, Gordon Brown, Sylvester Rick and Lewis Nelson.
