Students entering W.S. Neal Middle School or W.S. Neal High School for the first time have an opportunity to tour the school and meet teachers prior the first day of school.
Kina Burkett is helping to coordinate the open house set at W.S. Neal Middle School on Aug. 5 from 2 to 5 p.m.
Freshman students at W.S. Neal High School will also have an opportunity to tour their new school and get a feel for where their classes will be, Gwynn Shell, school counselor said.
Burkett said an afternoon of information, food and even a little fun will provide students and parents an opportunity to get to know others in their classes as well as teachers and administrators at the school.
Beginning at 2 p.m. a general orientation group meeting will be held in the school lunchroom at W.S. Neal Middle School. For all incoming fifth grade students and their parents. At 3 p.m., students and parents will have an opportunity to meet homeroom teachers, pay locker fees and practice opening their lockers, Burkett said.
An early dinner will be served at 4 p.m. for everyone in attendance, Burkett said.
Door prizes will be given away to finish up the afternoon at W.S. Neal Middle School, Burkett said.
Burkett said any business that would like to contribute to help provide food, door prizes or monetary contributions may call the school at 867-5035.
