Brewton schools to hold orientation sessions

Brewton City Schools are planning special orientation sessions for students entering either Brewton Elementary or Middle Schools or T.R. Miller High School.
T. R. Miller High School will provide an orientation session for all ninth grade students, new students or parents on Tuesday, Aug. 5, from 12:45 p.m. until 3 p.m. in the high school auditorium.  Ninth grade students will receive their class schedules during this time.
Schedules will be available for registered T.R. Miller High School students in the school lunchroom Aug. 1 from 9 a.m. to noon.
Brewton Middle School will host an orientation for fifth grade students and their parents on Sunday, Aug. 3, at 2 p.m. in the media center at the middle school.
Students enrolled at Brewton Elementary School should attend with their parents to meet their teachers and have a brief orientation Aug. 6, during the following specified times.
Kindergarten- 11:30 a.m.; Third Grade - 9 a.m.; First Grade - 1 p.m; Fourth grade - 10 a.m.; Second Grade - 8 a.m.
Students will not remain at school after the registration and orientation period; however, all school supplies should be brought to school on August 6.
The first day of school for T. R. Miller High School students and Brewton Middle School students is Aug. 6.  Students will attend the full day, and buses will run their regular routes. Parents of any new student to the system should register through the guidance office of the child's school before Aug. 4.
