E.B. Place 1 candidates hope to build revenue

Boosting revenue and drawing new business are among the goals of both candidates for East Brewton City Council place 1.
In the Aug. 26 municipal election, Roland Gibson will challenge Ned Sibert for the seat Sibert currently holds.
Gibson, 61, is a lifelong resident of East Brewton.
Gibson is a graduate of W.S. Neal High School and a graduate of Jefferson Davis Junior College, and he attended the University of Florida for a year.
He has been married to Brenda Smith Gibson for 36 years. The have three children, Pete Gibson, Heath Gibson and Robyn Gibson Johnson. He is the son of Roland and Kitty Gibson. He is a Vietnam veteran and a member of the W.S. Neal Hall of Fame.
Sibert said the city needs to find new revenue streams.
Sibert is a pharmacist at Fred's in East Brewton.
Sibert and his wife, Sarah, have three children, Ned, Kim and Christy. They have four grandchildren, Quinn, Jude, Jaylor and Ryan.
Sibert graduated from Baldwin County High School in Bay Minette and is a graduate of Faulkner State Community College and Auburn University.
He has been a pharmacist for 35 years and is a member of First Baptist Church of Brewton, where he is an ordained deacon and Sunday school teacher.
