Mrs. Elva Lee Monie, 74, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008, in a local hospital. She was a native and life long resident of the Brewton area. She was a seamtress at Judy Bond for a number of years and was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, William “Bobby” (Mary) Monie of Flomaton and Steven Lindsey Monie of Brewton; three sisters, Lena Gay of Pensacola, Mira Weaver of Castleberry and Linda Dickens of Hurley, Miss.; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 5, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Craver's Funeral Home with the Rev. David Dykes officiating. Burial followed at Union Grove Cemetery with Craver's Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were John Norris, John Monie, T.J. Robinson, Chris Holland, Sanford Holland and Andy Gumbie.
