Mrs. Ethel Eugenia “Genie” Lynch, 89, died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008, at a Pensacola health care facility after a brief illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Conecuh County, and was a retired machine operator with Monsanto Corporation with more than 30 years of service. She was a member of the Appleton Assembly of God Church and she was preceded in death by her husband, Lumen Lynch.
She is survived by a son, Bobby (Virginia) Lynch of Molino, Fla.; four brothers, James Jernigan and Nova Leigh Jernigan, both of Pensacola, Johnny Jernigan of Lillian, and Pete Jernigan of Irvington; four sisters, Louise Findley of Brooklyn, Polly Findley of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Betty Wilson of Pensacola, and Margaret Kirkland of Mobile; and two grandchildren, Shari (Ralph) Stagner and Brian (Antoinette) Lynch.
Visitation will be held Sunday, Aug. 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 11, at 10 a.m. at Appleton Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Russ McDonald officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Grove Cemetery in Castleberry with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for contributions to the Appleton Assembly of God Church Women's Ministry.
