U.B. “Hot Shot” Franklin

Mr. U.B. “Hot Shot” Franklin, 78, of Alabama 41, died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008, at a local hospital after a brief illness. He was a native and lifelong resident of Escambia County, and was a retired truck driver with Pettis Trucking. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eula Bell Franklin; a son, Marty Franklin; and a sister, Elma Lee Clifton.
He is survived by six sisters, Dorothy Mock, Alma Hammac and Pearline O'Hara, all of Brewton, Lola Baxter of Saraland, and Elsie Creeden and Jean Kendall, both of Pensacola; a daughter-in-law, Debra Franklin of Brewton; two grandsons and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 9, at 10 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Phillip Pettis officiating. Burial followed at Green Acres Memorial Gardens in Brewton with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were John Wright, Johnny Wright, Jason Wright, Dennis Harold, Allen Pettis and Chris Emmons.
