Mr. Noah Vernon Ryals, 90, of Appleton Road, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008, at a local hospital after a brief illness. He was a native and life long resident of Castleberry. He was a member of Oak Grove Holiness Church, a retired salesman from Cotton-Hutchison of Evergreen with 20 years of service, and formerly employed with the Conecuh County Board of Education. He was preceded in death by a son, Thurel Ryals.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Voncile Crutchfield Ryals of Castleberry; two daughters, Shirley (Curtis) Smith and Dot (Robert) Weaver both of Castleberry; a sister, Idell Wallace of Silverhill; a grandchild, Devon (Randy) Cardwell of Castleberry and two great-grandchildren, Daniel and Emily Cardwell of Castleberry.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 19, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Elder Rogene Booker and the Rev. Justin Morse officiating. Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery in Castleberry with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
