Mr. Sam Henry Collins Jr., 18, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2008, in a Montgomery hospital. He was a native of Mobile and a resident of Pollard since 1998. He was a graduate of Flomaton High School and a member of the weight lifting and football teams. He was currently attending Huntingdon College in Montgomery and played football on the team. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Flomaton.
He is survived by his parents, Sam Henry Collins Sr. and Marion Yvonne Monroe Collins of Pollard; a brother, Sam Henry Hooker of Huntsville; three sisters, Martha Collins of Pollard, Jeanna Collins Pierre of Atlanta, and Samantha Boykins of Mobile; and an adopted grandmother, Lynn Hudson.
Visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Flomaton High School Auditorium.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 23, at 10 a.m. at Flomaton High School with the Rev. John Evangalestia and the Rev. Glenn McCall officiating. Burial will follow at Pollard Cemetery with Craver's Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers will be members of the Flomaton Football team.
