With a 33-6 win over the Monroe County High School Tigers last Thursday, the W.S. Neal Eagles will look to continue their winning ways as they open up region week Friday night at home against the Clarke County Bulldogs.
While a win is a win, Hathcock said there were some things he saw later on that concerned him.
This is the first week of region play for both the Eagles and the Bulldogs. Hathcock said that while it's imperative to win the first region game, that he and his team have not really talked much about it being region week.
Clarke County is coming off a 36-9 loss last Friday night to 2A Leroy. Even though the Bulldogs lost to a 2A school, Hathcock thinks that score is a little misleading.
Hathcock said his team needs to limit the big play capabilities of the Bulldogs Friday night to have a chance to win.
On offense, Hathcock said his team needs to contain the front four of the Bulldogs to be able to set up offensively.
Game time is 7 p.m. in East Brewton.
