Mr. George Watson Thomas Sr., 93, died Friday, Aug. 22, 2008. He was a member of First Saint Siloam Baptist Church and an employee of T.R. Miller Mill Company for more than 60 years. He was preceded in death by six siblings and three children, Peggy, George Jr. and Rebecca.
He is survived by his wife, Annie B. Thomas; his sons, James Walter (Val) Thomas of San Diego, Calif., and Bernard (Brenda) Thomas of Brewton; a son-in-law, Earl Hicks of New York; sisters-in-law, Mabel Thomas and Lillie Dove, both of Brewton; a brother-in-law, Joe (Mary) Lewis; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 27, at 2 p.m. at Seond St. Siloam Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie J. Blue officiating. Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery with Presley-Fluker Funeral Home directing.
