Mr. Herbert Anthony “Tony” Flowers, 61, died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008, at his residence.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Huxford. He attended Coley Chapel Methodist Church and is preceded in death by a son, Anthony DeWayne Flowers; his parents, Herbert and Tennie Flowers; a brother, Dennis Flowers and a sister, Sharon Lola Flowers.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Flowers of Huxford; a son, Lee (Amanda) Flowers of Cuba, Mo.; a daughter, Tonya (Justin) Flowers of Huxford; a brother, Ron (Kathy) Flowers of Semirah Springs; a sister, Jo An (Paul) Hold of La Verne, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Sabina Flowers of Mobile; and two grandchildren, Alexis Lambert and Lane Flowers.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 1, at 2 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Jean Spikes officiating. Burial followed at Enon Baptist Cemetery with Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Don Chunn, Glen Dreadin, Joe McMullen, Norman Hubert, and Jimmy Booker.
