Lady Eagles beat MC

In their first game of the 2008 season, the W.S. Neal Lady Eagle varsity and junior varsity teams both swept Monroe County Thursday night 3-0 and 2-0 respectively.
The W.S. Neal Lady Eagle JV team defeated Monroe County 25-19 in games one and two to pick up their first win of the season.
In varsity action, W.S. Neal defeated Monroe County 25-10 in game one, 25-20 in game two, and 28-26 in game three.
In JV action for the Eagles, W.S. Neal opened the game with a 4-1 lead courtesy of two service point aces from Brittany Burch.
After having a 7-3 lead get trimmed and the game get tied at 13-13 and 16-16, Ashley Bridges put the Lady Eagles up 20-16 with three straight service points and two aces.
Burch closed out the win for the Eagles with three service points.
In game two, the Lady Eagles fell behind 3-0, but tied the game at and went ahead 4-3 after three service points and an ace from Britta Wood.
Lauren Boatwright then gave the Eagles a 15-10 lead in the game. Amber Gray put the Lady Eagles up 21-14 with five straight service points and one ace en route to a 25-19 win for the Lady Eagles.
In varsity action, the W.S. Neal Lady Eagles dominated game one as they built a 10-3 lead and a 16-10 lead en route to a 25-10 win.
Caitlyn Blackman led the Lady Eagles in game one with eight straight service points to close the game and four game ending aces.
In game two, Blackman again led with four service points and five kills in the win.
In game three, after holding a 20-17 lead, the Lady Eagles quickly saw their lead disappear and Monroeville tie the game at 24-24,
With the game tied, W.S. Neal took a 26-25 lead and was one point away from winning before Monroeville tied the game again at 26-26 before taking the 28-26 win.
Megan Pence led with four service points in the win and Whitney Douglas added three kills.
W.S. Neal will be back in action on Monday when they travel to Jackson.
