After neither offense could get any points on their first drive and the Eagles were forced to punt on their second drive to start the second quarter, the Tigers were the first to get on he board at the 7:33 mark in the quarter. On first down from their own 41-yard line, Denton connected with Herbert for a 59-yard touchdown to put the Tigers up 6-0. Jaren Jackson added the two-point conversion for the Tigers to give them an 8-0.
After the Tiger touchdown, the Eagles failed to move the ball again and the Tiger took over at their own 20-yard line.
From there, the Tigers used 12 plays to drive 80 yards and took 4:14 off the clock to go up 14-0 after a Denton-to Herbert connection.
In the second half, the Tigers fumbled on their opening drive, but held the Eagle offense to a punt again before failing to convert any points as the third quarter ended with the Tigers still up 14-0 over the Eagles.
In the fourth quarter, Denton added to his touchdown and yards in the game when he found Dakota Shultz in the middle of the field for a 60-yard touchdown to put the Tigers up 22-0 after a Darrion Salter two-point conversion for the Tigers at the 3:43 mark in the fourth quarter.
On the Eagles’ first snap after the Tiger touchdown, a bad snap for the Eagles turned into a fumble recovery for the Tigers who needed only two plays to take a 30-0 lead after a David Ikner 6-yard touchdown and two-point conversion.
With the win, the Tigers improved to 2-0 on the season in B team play after an opening game win over Opp. W.S. Neal fell to 0-1.
