Mr. Francis Eugene Davis, 85, of Ridge Road, died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, in a Pensacola medical facility after a brief illness. He was a native and former resident of Pace, Fla., before moving to Brewton. He was a member of Ridge Road Baptist Church, a U.S. Navy veteran serving in World War II, the Korean conflict and Vietnam. He was a retired supervisor from the Escambia County Road Department.
He is survived by a daughter, Karen Powell of Pace; a brother, Nathan Davis of Brewton; a sister, Claudie Stevens of Tennessee; two grandchildren, Dee Powell and Kathryn Renee Powell and one great-grandchild, Jackson Powell.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Sept. 17, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 18, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Brother Bob Eisenburg, Brother Byrnes Pitts, and Brother Lee Cadenhead officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Road Baptist Church Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
