Mrs. Doris Juanita Jacobson, 83, died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008. She was a native of Monroe County and a resident of Bay Minette. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Louise Wasden; her husband of 59 years, the Rev. Walter L. Jacobson; two grandsons, Ricky Wayne Bell and Lawrence Jacobson; and an infant son.
She is survived by two sons, Larry (Sandy) Jacobson of Loxley, and Mitchell (Debbie) Jacobson of Sylacauga; five daughters, Angelia Bell of Bay Minette, Yvonne Backlin of Lucedale, Miss., Carolyn (Curtis) Brantley of Monroeville, Marilyn (Aaron) Brock of Prague, Okla. and Brenda (Leo) James of Brewton; 15 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 20, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Bay Minette, with the Rev. Aaron Brock, Jon Anderson and Dr. Chip Starnes officiating. Burial followed at Pine Grove Cemetery with Norris Funeral Home of Bay Minette directing.
Pallbearers were the grandsons, Lyn Bell, Jonathan Brock, Benjamin Brock, Brandon James, Bryan James, Shane Backlin, Shannon Backlin and Denton Damron.
