John William “Bill” Collins

Mr. John William “Bill” Collins, 53, died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, at a Pensacola hospital. He was a native of Slyacauga and was a resident of Flomaton for most of his life. He was a member of Flomaton First Baptist Church and a member of North American Hunting Club. He worked for Exxon for many years as a senior plant operator, and recently began his own business, Collins Custom Rods, specializing in building hot rods and repairs.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Mullins Collins of Flomaton; two daughters, Wendi Collins and Brittany Collins, both of Flomaton; and a brother, James Robert Collins of Houston, Texas.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 29, at 2 p.m. at Flomaton First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jerry Keese and the Rev. Dustin Stockstill officiating. Burial followed at Flomaton Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing, Pallbearers were Billy Hines, David Adams, Richard Hawthorne, Buddy Morris, Freddie Sasser and Donny Marshall.
