W.S. Neal High School students recently selected members of the 2008 homecoming court chosen to preside over homecoming activities this week at the school.
Chosen as queen of the court was Caitlin Cooper. Attendants chosen were Ralen Boggs and Shykeeliah Collins - freshmen; Rachael Browder and Alexis Redmon - sophomore; Ashton Cary and Amber Brazile - juniors; and Lauren Watson and Ron'Nish Allen - seniors.
Activities surrounding the celebration will include special accommodations for alumni returning for class reunions.
Homecoming coordinator Gloria Jerkins said Friday will hold a full slate of activities set to begin on the school campus beginning at 8 a.m.
Alumni will be given a chance to reconnect with classmates as the National Honor Society group hosts an alumni reception in the lounge at the school. The reception will begin at 9 a.m.
The annual homecoming parade is set to get under way at 1 p.m. leaving the school and winding through the main thoroughfares of East Brewton.
The parade will travel down Andrew Jackson Street to U.S. 29 to Forrest Avenue. As the parade approaches the East Brewton branch of BankTrust, a pep rally will be conducted by cheerleaders and the band. The parade route will continue on Forrest Avenue to Magnolia Superfoods with the parade disbanding along Snowden Street near Fort Crawford Park.
Gates at the W.S. Neal High School football field will open at 5:30 p.m. with pre-game activities set to begin at 6:25.
Kick-off for the game between W.S. Neal and Calhoun County is set for 7 p.m.
