State candidates to tour area

Brewton area residents will have an opportunity to meet candidates running for state offices as a political tour rolls into town.
The tour is being conducted by the Republican party to cover 67 counties in the tour.
Five candidates are running for statewide offices to be decided in the November general election.
The tour will make stops in Escambia County Wednesday, Sept. 24 beginning at the Escambia County Courthouse at 1 p.m.
The tour will continue throughout the day by making stops in Flomaton and Atmore.
A planned stop on the tour will be held at the Flomaton City Hall at 2:30 p.m..
Candidates will continue their Escambia County leg of the tour with a stop at Atmore City Hall at 3:15 p.m.  
Members and officials with the Republican party are encouraging voter participation during the tour throughout the state.
Candidates taking part in the tour include Twinkle Andress Cavanaugh who is a candidate for Public Service Commission President; Judge Greg Shaw, candidate for Alabama Supreme Court (Place 1); Mary Windom,
Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals (Place 2); Judge Bill Thompson, seated candidate for Alabama Court of Civil Appeals (Place 1); and Beth Kellum, Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals (Place 1).
All stops on the tour are open to the public and will offer citizens an opportunity to meet the candidates. An opportunity for introductions will be made possible during the tour.
A brief opportunity for questions may be possible if time permits on the tour.
Times for the tours are approximate depending upon possible travel delays as well as weather conditions.
