The Brewton Mites were the only team of the three Brewton Youth Football teams to come away with a win this past week against Bellview Gold.
The Brewton mini-mites fell 25-13 and the Brewton Mites won 26-0. The Brewton Midgets lost 30-12.
In the mini-mites game, Brewton quarterback Joshua Gunter scored on a 65-yard run in the second quarter and added the PAT for Brewton. Austin Berrey also scored on a 2-yard run late in the third quarter, but the PAT was no good.
On defense, the Tigers played decent in the ball game to keep a tough Bellview offense from running up the score. Dedvic Bell, Jackson Lowell, Micah Suarez and Narkavis Campbell all played well on defense for Brewton.
In the Mites win, Brewton was led by fullback Ah'Maud Taylor who had two rushing touchdowns and over 80 yards on the day. Quarterback Kellyn Winn had a 5-yard run for a touchdown in the second quarter and D'Angelo Thomas added the PAT.
Markail Mitchell also added a 30-yard run for a touchdown and the PAT was good by Anterio Drakeford.
The defense played well to get the shutout and was led by Da'Quain Kiser, James Wells, Sammy Jackson, Christian Roye and Tamerick Jenkins.
For the Midgets, Brewton only came up with two touchdowns against a tough Bellview Gold defense.
Jaylon Herbert scored on a 15-yard run in the first quarter to get Brewton on the board. The only other score came in the fourth quarter with 2:45 left to go in the game on a 55-yard touchdown run.
The defense was led by Larry Cheatham, Lucas Knight, Terry Samuel, Jr., Kevin Martindale and Ronald Young.
Brewton will play its first home game on Saturday against Gulf Breeze White at 11 a.m. at Brewton Municipal Stadium.
