Daughter's life, death remembered

As I write these words, It has been almost a year since our daughter, Kelly Stallworth Horner, was killed in an automobile accident near Gadsden, AL. This “thank you” to The Brewton Standard is late coming, but is written to express our deep appreciation for your article following Kelly's death and also with gratitude for your sympathy. Although we no longer reside in Escambia County, our hearts are knit closely with many in Brewton and surrounding areas. The affection expressed by numerous friends has indeed been comforting these past months.
Thirty-five years ago, Kelly Stallworth was born in Choctaw County, AL. I had finished college at UWF in 1971, was married to Carolyn Patterson and with a request from a small congregation in Pennington, AL, we went west-west Alabama-to pastor and teach school. When Kelly came into the world on September 11, 1973, Carolyn and I both knew she was special.
